Powerpoint slide templates - critique/suggestions?

OK, after saying I'd lend some hands towards the campaign (http://www.pirateparty.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=1571), here's what I have after a few hours in GIMP. At least two more to come - they're not quite done yet. I just didn't want people to think I'd forgotten about it

Small disclaimer:
1) I don't claim to be even half-decent at graphic design;
2) I really had no idea what the team was after in terms of design;

Criticisms/comments/suggestions etc - all welcome. Sorry if it's in the wrong forum, btw. Anyways, here we go:

Style 1 - Personal favourite




Style 2 - Aware this is very white. Imho it needs a little tweaking.




Style 3 - Perhaps a little bland.

I like them, but there's one problem: there's no '.uk' in the logo! It was dropped a little while after the party was formed, although it's still used on the wiki for some reason.

I disagree. Obviously, we should recommend that the title and last pages in the presentation have the URL on, but Google works quite well and avoids slide clutter.

Also, there's no "choice" needed, really -- the more high-quality templates, the better.

The first one would make a very good title slide, imho.

Change the sketchy font to something more standard. also, don't use the photoshop brushes, they use the outdated emblem, and the cut of the text on PPUK is wrong. Make use of the svg here: http://www.pirateparty.org.uk/wiki/Work ... tyle_guide

Thanks for the pointers I'm going to see if I can convert the logo to new brushes, actually. Would make my life easier.

I dropped these into a powerpoint template file to see how it looks, potx file attached within a zipfile (this uses helvetica font for content pages and Alte DIN 1451 Mittelschrift ge for title slide headings).

One thing I did note: these images are 792x540px and the canvas size in powerpoint, for me anyway, is 960x720px - I'd appreciate other people checking in case my setup is just weird! This isn't the same ratio which has led me to have to slightly stretch these images to make them 'work' properly as powerpoint backgrounds.

bushido13: I think your images are brilliant ... but would it be possible to get them at a different size? I think 1024x768 or 720x540 would give the best default ratio ... I don't know if 'widescreen' ratios are needed as, from memory, powerpoint will just black-border the projected/displayed image anyway.

I wasn't even sure of the dimensions needed to be honest. I should have asked, actually. I'd been looking at this page and after a glance-over I saw 10"x7.5".

I've just realised I've made a mistake actually - inputting 11" instead. Sorry guys I'll try rectify it asap.

actually, some of these images at a range of different desktop resolutions would make great computer desktop wallpapers/backgrounds

That's true, I think. See if any of these look ok if you're going to put them in an .odp?

bushido13: probably a good idea for you to clearly indicate that you want to release your work on these images as CC. I suspect Creative Commons Noncommercial Attribution ShareAlike 3.0 is the preferred licence.

Likewise I am happy to clarify that my work on the templates is under such a licence (umm.. assuming your images are that is)

FYI, I have been requesting that campaign materials are licensed CC-BY wherever possible (i.e. the most permissive CC licence).

I just took my suspicion from the licence the wiki says it prefers. However I am absolutely happy making my 'creations' under CC-BY. Hope Bushido13 feels likewise
