Yeah, its always been a popular symbol of file-sharing and has been used by the press as a stock image whenever they need one.
Also, its an open-source image, so its fine to use it.

Just worked on yet another poster, this ones very high res. (I'm bored, no work today ;])

http://i31.tinypic.com/6p9m53.gif

i'm just thinkign that if people associate that symbol with the pirate bay (like i do) then they might think were somehow connected, which we aren't.

also, is that the anon suit? another site i don't think we'd want to be that associated with. whilst we deffinitely want their support we don't want the media to just say "oh my their just a bunch of teenagers who steal music and call people fags"

Looks like a black suit to me. Black Suit does not automatically equate to anon. It is what you think it as. If you percieve it to be then others will follow the example. I for example did not notice it. To me it was just a pirate related avatar. If you don't want to associate with it then don't bring it up.

put up a poster in my village, small steps but all it is is an A4 page with the writing from our home page copied onto it and a party logo at the top right.and our email written on the bottom.i got quotes for leaflets today from the printer man in warwick, apparantly they have better rates because of online competitors. http://www.claridgeswarwick.co.uk/
they sound pretty good.i'll probably get my leaflets from here but i need someone with skill to make one and give me one to give to them, this way it may be cheaper as they judge what they can do.plus i'd rather go to a local business than an online one because then we can say we're helping local businesses.good for a local campaign anyway, thoughts?

You're right there, especially about the anon suit.
The posters were made more out of boredom than as serious propaganda, made of stock images and stuff I've found on my hard-drive. I guess I was simply being enthusiastic about it. :]

Thinking ahead sounds like a good plan for me, Haha.

Whilst i agree that out of the general public, most would just see it as a suit, and with the anons it would probably be a plus (they recognise it, success is more likely to follow) but if the media get hold of it (which i think they would without me pointing it out) then i don't think they would hesitate in using it to undermine us, and i think "If you don't want to associate with it then don't bring it up." is a bit naiive because i'm not the only one who can recognise symbols and knows what 4chan etc is like, i reckon it owuld get picked up on without me doing it

I'm returning with a new poster design.

I'm using the theory that it's campaign-able as we can use loads of different anti-piracy speeches etc in the bulk of the text. It's long copy so ideal for trains/tubes etc. Anywhere with a high volume captive audience.

A fair point. While I personally wouldn't expect the media to pick up on it; if the risk is there then get rid of it. Better safe than sorry i guess.

I've been working on some more flyers, banners, widgets for blogs n' stuff. Just wanted to ask what the font just for the Pirate Party logo is?

That last one would be a good one if we got several quotes, then there could be some randomisation code for websites that will display a different one every time or something, but still have a consistent design.
I rarely proof read...

I love the slogan

"Make it a world you want to live in"

we should use that.
"Do what you want 'cos a Pirate is free, you are a Pirate"

Hey, I created this page on the wiki please add your materials (and please upload them directly to the wiki, as tinypic will delete them eventually). Also try to provide the SVGs/PSDs directly as it is easier to scale and edit.

I really like the idea of using the old home tapping is killing music logo because i think a lot of the older generation (talking my parents age) will remember this and be able to relate to it from when they where passing round cassettes of the latest boy group etc etc. If someone can come up with a couple more incorporation that logo i think that would be great.

Yeah, I can see it now and I like it a lot, drives home the point about the unfair fines nicely.
