I have obtained the result of the vote of no confidence in Peter Liddell as party Treasurer by querying the database due to difficulties obtaining the result the traditional way. To ease any privacy or data protection concerns, my query was very specific and was carefully made as to not display the member ids with the votes, and can be shown in the sql logs.
Anyway, the result is fairly unanimous. 68 votes were made, 59 votes (86.76%) voted in favour of the removal of Peter Liddell as Treasurer and 9 votes (13.24%) voted in favour of Peter Liddell remaining as Treasurer.
Therefore, Peter Liddell is no longer Pirate Party UK Treasurer and Loz Kaye will assume responsibility of the treasury by law, with Miah Gregory continuing as Deputy Treasurer to assist in the day-to-day activities.
The next step for the Board before handing the matter back to the NEC is to appoint a team to oversee the election. The team must have at least 1 person that is not contesting an election for a position within the party, be on the NEC or be on the Board. We are in discussions with who to have in the team and will reveal the team once they have been contacted.
When the team is in place, the Board will ask the NEC to open nominations for a minimum period of 14 days and then start the member vote.
Thank you all for voting and I will keep you informed of any updates as and when they occur.
