I'll start by asking the candidate the questions that were drafted on the wiki page. Please feel free to ask the candidate any other questions you have.

  • Why do you want to be an executive?
  • How did you get involved in the Pirate Party movement?
  • What experience do you have that makes you suitable for the role?
  • What is your view on the job done by the exec team so far?
  • How would you describe your management style?
  • How will you identify and encourage talented people to help run the party?
  • What experience do you have in this field?
  • What measures would you take to ensure the security of member's data?
  • What information do you believe should be public?
  • Should this role be broadened to cover the wider topic of how the party uses and manages information technology, like an Information Officer? If yes, why? If not, why not?

[*]Why do you want to be an executive?

I want to be more involved with the running of the party.

[*]How did you get involved in the Pirate Party movement?

I joined back in 2009 when the party was being to take shape. Having some intrest in the discussions about copyright as I have friends and family involved in the creation of different media types.

[*]What experience do you have that makes you suitable for the role?, [*]What experience do you have in this field?

I have previously worked for a large software company working on government projects, as well as directly for the home office, so I understand the need for personal details to be maintained and stored in a secure manner.

[*]What is your view on the job done by the exec team so far?

Overall, I think they have done a very good job considering that they are new to their positions as political party execs.

[*]How would you describe your management style?

I have a generally laid back manangement style, as long as people are doind the jobs they are assigned, and in a timely manner, I don't have problems with it.

[*]How will you identify and encourage talented people to help run the party?

As we're almost entirely digital / online party, talented people have tended to put themselves forward for jobs where they can use their talents, such as the designing of the postcards and leaflets.

[*]What measures would you take to ensure the security of member's data?

A continuation of work done by miah, as well as taking any feedback from others to ensure information is held securely.

[*]What information do you believe should be public?

Whilst some of the data stored will be personal and therefore private data, any information that can be public, should be public.

[*]Should this role be broadened to cover the wider topic of how the party uses and manages information technology, like an Information Officer? If yes, why? If not, why not?

No, such a position would come under the campaigns officer duties, especially if it's how the party is going to use services like twitter and facebook to promote the parties policies.

What things have you done to help organize and manage the party since you became a member?

I researched and organised locations and information for a party unconference, unfortunately due to not enough intrest being shown in attending, it was decided to postpone the event.

Would you be willing to participate in a head-to-head real-time debate with the rival nominee for Data Controller?

My thinking here is it would take place via conference call. The call would be recorded and the recording made available without any subsequent editing.

*Edit: please see this post http://www.pirateparty.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1391#p10596 for clarifications about the aim and nature of the intended debate. The post is a response to questions from Miah.*

It was a mistake, it was re-stickied soon after that was posted.
