I wouldn't mind 1-2 weeks of campaigning. I wouldn't like to see the process dragged on much further than that though.

1-2 weeks is fine by me.

With the fact we have more candidates than vacancies (which is always good and doesn't happen often enough!), I would like to see a campaigning period to help me decide who should get my vote as a member (as well as allowing me time to find my feet in the nominating officer role on this occasion...). I think it worked well for the Campaigns Officer position and should be considered as routine when vacancies are contested (something for the board to look at once they are back to full strength?).

Any other candidates want to weigh in? How does 1 week sound? Sufficient?

Also without waiting for the fine details I suggest candidates start any campaigning they wish to do now. You've all got competition - you won't all win, so if one of the other candidates has mentioned anything you're not sure about now is the time to quiz them to find out if they get your vote (I am assuming all candidates will vote their first preference for themselves, but you have the 2-4 slots to vote with too!).

Should campaigning happen in existing nomination threads or new ones?

1 week sounds sufficient to me, but I'd be happy with 2.

Makes sense to use the threads that already exist.

I have a few questions about the questioning:

- What sort of subjects should we be limiting questions to (if at all) - just related to the board positions only, or are questions about their views on PPUK in general OK?
- If a question is to be posted to all candidates, should it be done in this topic, or a new post in each of their separate topics?

I'd say anything that will help *you* decide who gets your vote. I'd hope the things that would help you decide would be relevant to the Party in some way! ;)

It can be about the current role of the Board, potential future ones that you or the candidates might like. The PPUK-related views of Governors impacts the way they do aspects of the job - so absolutely fair game.

You can ask in candidate threads, asking them all the same question, or all different questions, if you have a question to all candidates you might want to start a new thread and then link to it in their threads to make sure they spot it ...

whatever and however you think best (within reason)

Clearly formalising the nomination/ campaigning / vote cycle would be helpful. This is clearly something the NEC should be doing in consultation with the Board.

My observation from how things have heen would be that a maximum of a month for that cycle is desireable. For the case of the NEC to leave us without the operational capacity for any longer is hugely problematic in actually getting things done. And after all- the real active election cycle from declaration to vote is a month.
