Leader's Office

The Leadership team get requests and communication every day from across the UK and Internationally. They also write, talk and appear in the media on a wide range of topics at the cutting edge of modern politics.

We are currently in the process of fully setting up the Leader's Office, and you can help shape it. We are all activists and grassroots campaigners so these are volunteer roles. We are currently looking for:

Leader's Office Co-ordinator

Someone to support the Leader and Deputy Leader with booking any talks, managing leader's update releases, updating the website with when NEC and other meetings are and a touch of other admin. This person will ned to have excellent writing skills, the ability to respond quickly, to be able work independently and take initiative. And of course be passionate about politics.

The role is suitable for someone who wants to make a concrete contribution to Pirate politics.

Researcher

Someone to support the Leader's Office with research and briefing on key political topics. Like the co-ordinator, this person will need to have excellent writing skills, the ability to respond quickly, to be able work independently and take initiative. And of course be passionate about politics.

Campaign's Office

Videogropher/Video Editor(s)

Calling all experienced camera operators and/or editors, or an allrounder who can help us produce video content for our channels. You will only be expected to contribute when you can so we are looking to gather together a team who can share any responsibilities. We have specific things we'd like filming such as the recording of our blog posts being read out and coverage of events, but are also interested in creative film ideas. Sound Editor(s)

We're looking for people experienced with audio recording and editing who can help us produce sound based content for our channels. You will only be expected to contribute when you can so we are looking to gather together a team who can share any responsibilities. We have specific things we'd like to record and edit such as regular podcasts and recording of our blog posts being read out, but are also interested in creative ideas. Photographer(s)

Are you an experienced photographer or a keen amature? Can you help us with our photography? You will only be expected to contribute when you can so we are looking to gather together a team of official party photographers who can share any responsibilities. We have specific things we'd like to photograph such as events and headshots, but are also interested in creative ideas. Designer(s)

Pirate Party UK are on the lookout for some experienced designers. Do you know your way around creative software, are you creative and do you have an eye for detail? If so, we need you. We're looking to create some high quality, creative designs for posters, placards, leaflets and the web to stand out and attract attention. You will only be expected to contribute when you can, so we are looking to gather together a team of official party designers who can share any responsibilities. We have specific things we'd like to design such as leaflets and social media graphics, but are also interested in creative ideas. Press Team - Bloggers/Writers

Want to share your thoughts on an established political platform? Want to be a spokesperson for a certain geographic area such as your town or country? Perhaps you have specialist knowledge of a certain subject such as Health, Law, IT or something else? We are always looking for content creators for our newsletters, magazine and blogs, not to mention we are often featured in or write guest pieces for other journalist organisations. Interested? Secretariat

Policy Co-ordinator

Curating ideas during our crowd source period into professional policies and merging similar/symbyotic policies together. Similarly highlighting areas of policy conflict for the NEC/membership to vote on a solution. You would be the glue that holds our manifesto together! E-mail secretariat@pirateparty.org.uk

Volunteer Co-ordinator

Are you good at managing people or always wanted to be the living hub of the new blood into the party? We often have people volunteer their time and skills but aren't always sure what needs doing. If you are good at delegation and checking in with departments on if they need anything new, this could be the ideal surpervision job for you. E-mail secretariat@pirateparty.org.uk

Content Team - Website Moderator

Experience moderating websites and forums in the past? Our website needs the occasional clean up and typos fixed. The comments section isn't immune to spam comments either. If you have some spare time but are never free at set times of the week, this could be an ideal volunteer role for you. Sound like a fit? E-Mail: webteam@pirateparty.org.uk


Content Team - Social Media Moderator

Our press releases, blog posts and whenever we feature in the media needs a push to reddit, twitter and facebook but we'd like to fire it to more platforms. Not to mention we like to engage with as many people as possible, so having a chat online might not seem like a "job" but our membership and the public as a whole really respond well to it. We're all about bringing the democratic process closer to the people and a great way to do that is just to sit down and chat around the twittosphere with a few Pirates.
