HSBC whistleblower 'Mr Ethical' has won his hard, drawn-out, 13-year-long battle against his former employer.

Four million pounds in compensation is due to be split between 6,700 people who had been forced to pay unreasonable debt collection charges.

David A Elston, Pirate Party Spokesperson, said:

“It’s not every day that someone takes on a big bank and wins. Just over a year ago, Nicholas Wilson (or as he has come to be known, 'Mr Ethical') told me, and the hosts of Anon UK Radio, about the gruelling experience he had been through.

    “It takes an incredible...

As one of the final acts of his final term as Commander-in-Chief, President Obama announced today that he would be commuting Chelsea Manning's sentence, bringing forward her release following a 35-year sentence from 2045 to May 17th this year, as well as organising for the responsibility of her incarceration to no longer sit under the purview of the Department of Defence. Whilst incarcerated by the department, Chelsea has been prevented from seeing any surgeons to discuss sexual reassignment, and is still held to male military standards.

The announcement made regular mention that the emails were not threats or...

Section 40 was in response to the Leveson Inquiry, which recommended legal remedies should be more easily available to the public.

In principle, this is a good idea, however the Act is terribly worded.

Pirate Party Media Spokesperson David A Elston said:

    Ahoy Pirates,

As we start the New Year - we thought a Member's Update - looking at the Year past and the Year ahead was in order...

    A Year in Review

So earlier in the Year we got our first Pirate representative in any level of government; 1st March 2016 (St David's Day) was when David Elston was co-opted onto the St Athan Community Council. He has been an effective advocate for Pirate policies on the council, in particular trying to increase the levels of transparency and openness to the local community.

In May, Andreas Habeland stood in a local...
