Best ever result for the Pirate Party in Scotland
Pirates beat UKIP in Edinburgh Meadows/Morningside.
The Pirate Party UK stood three candidates in Scotland on Thursday, Rob Harris in Anderston, Glasgow, Finlay Archibald in Govan, Glasgow and Phil Hunt in Meadows/Morningside, Edinburgh. Our candidates and activists have been working hard getting their message out to voters, with Phil Hunt in Edinburgh getting the best result that the Party has seen in Scotland and both Rob and Finlay seeing a positive progression in their results.
The party challenged all of the local parties in these elections, beating out UKIP in Edinburgh. We want to restore the trust in local politics that seems to have been lost and we want to involve as many of our fellow citizens in the political process as possible. We live here, we love these cities and want to do the best we can for them – even if it’s just offering people a choice in who is involved in governance whenever the opportunity arises.
We would like to thank all the people that got in touch with us and our candidates, our supporters and activists who worked on these elections and especially those people who put their trust in us and chose to Vote Pirate.
