Campaigns Manager Role and Responsibilities
Introduction
I see the role of Campaigns Manager as one of a coordinator as much as possible, of getting things started and trying to increase momentum, as well as being responsible for delivery (whilst not being the person directly delivering). At present that isn't
Directly the campaigns manager should be, with a support staff, aiming to raise the profile of the party, its candidates and its positions indirectly (using candidates, the leader, the press office etc.. and activists as a vehicle).
Responsibilities (Formal)
- Establishing national campaigns and the infrastructure to do so.
- Responsible for reporting National Campaign spending to the EC.
- Responsible for maintaining party registers relating to campaigns.
Responsibilities (Desirable)
- Responsible for providing support to local campaigns including:
- Research
- Printed Material
- Web Resources
- Press Support
Through coordination with the relevant teams
- Establishing local campaigns and election teams around a candidate.
- Responsible for coordinating national campaigns at the behest of the NEC.
- Responsible for increasing and communicating with the membership to increase party activities.
- Responsible for fund raising in conjunction with the treasurer under the guidance of the NEC.
- Responsible for coordinating campaigns related press responses in conjunction with the press team.
Responsibilities (Carrying out)
- Responsible for the initialisation and running policy process
- Responsible for putting together and issuing the manifestos after member input
- Identifying and building candidates
- Merchandising
- Membership communications
- Including new member communications
- Dealing with inbound support contact
- Dealing with members as directed to by other officers/members''
- Maintaining aspects of the current web site with input and support from the web team
- Promoting the party and issues via social media
- Ensuring that the party has adequate online resources with the support of the web team
- Producing material for publicity and other external facing requirements
- Dealing with the board on disciplinary matters that are of interest to campaigns
- Ensuring that the party's administrative functions are carried out
- Minuting all the damn NEC meetings.
- Working with the Treasurer and Party Secretary to ensure the conference has a venue.
- Providing and maintaining VOIP and development platforms to the party after an identified requirement.
