I joined the Pirate Party UK after failing to find a political party I wanted to vote for during the European Parliament elections last year and seeing the success of the Swedish Piratpartiet.

I am running as a candidate because I have been encouraging young people and working class people to get involved in politics for many months now whenever I hear them complaining about the state of our government and how our country is being run. I am running as a candidate to lead by example and hopefully get more people like me involved in politics.

Away from politics and work, I play wheelchair basketball for Bury Blue Devils and I play wheelchair tag rugby league for Jigsaw Bury and I'm in the current England development squad. I play both sports as an able bodied athlete and I have done for several years.

Local Policies

The Pirate Party UK encourages candidates to talk to their constituents and make up their own mind up on any policies that are not part of the PPUK's core policies or manifesto.

I would rather vote on issues based on the general view of the constituents of Bury North. I am happy to share my opinions with anyone that asks.

Expenses Scandal (David Chaytor)

The Pirate Party UK is free of corruption and we seek a transparent government. I fully support a transparent government and I want to see every single corrupted MP booted out of parliament and given a custodial sentence if they are found to be guilty of theft/fraud.

Fairfield Hospital's closures

I, like many, was appalled at the decision 3 years ago to close the maternity unit, special care baby unit, children's ward and emergency surgery unit at Fairfield Hospital as part of the 'Making It Better' programme. The Government should be looking to get these services into every hospital in the country, not taking them away from hospitals already offering them.
