Minutes of last meeting

The minutes of the last meeting have been approved.

Matters arising

Manifesto

Peter Brett noted that we have five weeks to launch. Andrew Tindall believed that there hadn’t been any new policy proposals for a while. He also thought that Finlay Archibald’s plan was to vote on these proposals at the end of January.

Action: Loz Kaye will contact Finlay Archibald to find out where we are with this.

Oldham update

Loz Kaye thanked everyone that had been involved for their effort in the campaign, and noted he had learned a lot in a short period of time.

Web team

We have had four or five people come forward since Andrew Tindall’s email on Friday.

We need to ensure these people get access to the web team forum, and look into giving CMS access to some.

A length discussion ensued regarding the way forward with the web team. It was decided that we will continue efforts to reach Tom Lilley, however if these fail in the next few days, Miah Gregory should take steps to recover the password.

Action: John Barron to email Miah Gregory with details of members who live nearby to Tom Lilley.

Action: Determine what paperwork we need web volunteers to sign.

Action: NEC to try test user on CMS and if approved then pass access on to the new web team members.

Action: Miah to set up backups on the VPS.

Action: Miah to look into regaining control of the VPS.

Scottish candidate ratification

John Barron would like to see ratification vote for those who have come forward run as soon as possible. It has been asked about, and was promised, and definitely should be concluded before the conference. John Barron would like to start a vote by next weekend. By end of January would just about do, would finish a bit before conference. This would be for the candidates who have come forward so far. Next week 23rd was Johns preference, 30th January at latest, for ratification to start.

Action: Loz Kaye will contact Finlay Archibald regarding this.

London RAO election

John Barron was chased on this recently. The London RAO election is ready to go, will open tomorrow 7.30pm, running for one week.

Tunisia - Slim Amamou in Government

Apparently there is now a pirate in government (waiting on independent verification still).

Treasury issues

Bank account

The new bank account is receiving funds. Peter Liddell is sending some forms to Peter Brett to be signed. Peter Liddell is also getting an online token sent out by the bank.

Peter Liddell asked who we wanted to be on the paperwork to change signatories. It was agreed that Peter Brett and Loz Kay should both be added on.

Free student membership

We need to make a clear statement to the membership on why we can’t approve new members at the moment. It was suggested that we offer anyone effected 1 years free membership from the date the issues are resolved.

Other free membership schemes

Skipped due to lack of time in the meeting. Peter Brett noted that it would be discussed in the Campaigns team meeting.

Deputy treasurers

It was suggested that we should send out a request for interested volunteers via the newsletter.

Action: Andrew Tindall will add this to the next newsletter.

Poor conference ticket sales - How to address?

We have 12 ticket sales, some of which are pay on the door. We need around 23 sales in order to break even.
