NEC Meeting Minutes 1st November 2010

Attendees

Andrew Tindall, Loz Kaye, Peter Liddell, John Barron, Miah Gregory

Apologies

Peter Brett

Approve minutes of last meeting.

The minutes of the previous NEC meeting were approved and have been published.

Matters arising

Status of various forms for the electoral commission

Party registration

John Barron and Peter Liddell both confirmed that this form has been received (along with the quarterly return).

Officers forms

John Barron has confirmation from the post office that the forms were delivered today, but the electoral commission were not able to confirm this yet. John Barron has a second set of forms ready to go in case there are any further issues.

Paypal transfer

Paypal have not yet confirmed the new bank account, so the funds have not yet been transferred and the name hasn’t yet been changed. Miah Gregory suggested that Peter Liddell try removing and re-adding the new bank account, and if that doesn’t solve the problem by Wednesday, to open a support case.

Peter Liddell now has a bank statement ready for the name change when the new account is confirmed by paypal.

Scotland 2011 Master Plan

John Barron suggested that we invite Andrew Paliwoda along to the NEC meetings for the foreseeable future. All NEC members present agreed this was a good idea.

Action: Peter Liddell will contact Andrew Paliwoda in the week.

Pirate Party Scotland Logo type - Today

Andrew Tindall has some draft versions he did a while ago.

Action: Andrew Tindall will dig these out and post them to the list.

Identify manifest writing group. Identify Scottish Election manifesto steering group - Friday

Andrew Tindall suggested we contact Duke regarding this.

Determine system for assembling candidate lists - Saturday

Loz Kaye felt this should be driven by the Scottish folks.

Action: Loz Kaye will send an email to Andrew Paliwoda intimating this and letting him know they can draw on the resources of the NEC as required.

Announce opening of nominations for candidacy - Sunday

Update logos registered with Electoral Commission - Sunday

Members unable to email either exec@ or nec@

People should be able to email either of those.

Action: Andrew Tindall will check whether this is working.

Any other business

No blog posts or press releases in over a month.

Andrew Tindall asked that if anyone has relevant ideas they should be posted, if only to get our name and site out there. He will be posting one on Friday with respect to it being six months to all the votes/elections and what we need to do.

AV Issue

Loz Kaye had an update on the AV issue that was raised a few weeks ago. He was at a training session for the Yes campaign, and will post something about this on the relevant forum. It was two hours of really good advice about how to campaign and Loz Kaye felt he took a lot away from it.

Pirate Radio request

Do we want to say yes to this?

Action: Loz Kaye will get in touch with the Pirate Radio folks.
