Matters arising
GM has signed form from PC and LK for Electoral Commission to confirm Nominations Officer Change - waiting for signature from John Barron as outgoing officer.
HSBC Account is open - MG has transferred funds from Bank of Scotland account which AH/LK need to confirm. LK to contact KSBC Sheffield about forms to add GM as signatory.
PC has candidate list and is working on candidate info such as constituencies - this will be ongoing and does not need to be on NEC agenda for now.
Data Controller Elections
The current situation and emails from the Board regarding this were discussed, the NEC still feel that the Data Controller as defined is too narrow a role for the NEC. GM noted that he is concerned over the time it has taken for the board to respond to this. Miah has stated on several occasions that he wishes to stand down. NEC agreed that the process needs to start ASAP to get NEC back to full strength and ensure we are meeting our obligations. LK noted that whomever is elected to the role needs to be an active member of the NEC and 'muck in' - he will be making this clear to anyone who puts themselves forward.
PC will contact MG for confirmation and will open nominations ASAP after this is received. LK will also contact MG to discuss.
Conference
LK mentioned that Stephen Ogden (SO) had sent an email with some specific questions and decision requests regarding the conference. LK is aiming for March for the conference so this takes place before election season. LK also wants to ensure that members have the opportunity to bring their topics and views for debate to the conference. AH/LK will take this up with him directly and LK will forward email to NEC for reference.
PC mentioned possibility of a 'fringe' event for potential candidates at conference regarding what is involved to try and generate more interest in standing. LK mentioned that he is looking at stuff for potential election agents to make the role seem less daunting.
Finance
Ongoing work to get HSBC account fully functional - GM is awaiting signatory paperwork.
GM mentioned that he has received a notification from the Electoral Commission regarding the 2010 accounts. As these were not received on time, they have placed the party under review and we may face sanctions. The review was started on 29th June and should be complete by 27th September. GM has already submitted some information and discussed the reasons with them, in order to assist them with the review.
Web Update
LK mentioned that content needs to be continually refreshed to stop the front page appearing static. He will send new links to EG for news content.

In Closing
LK stated that we are close to sorting our legacy problems, with just the finance stuff outstanding. LK mentioned that we are about to move into a new cycle of work which will focus on Policy Review and getting new people in.
