Attendees

Peter Liddell, Peter Brett, Finlay Archibald, John Barron, Miah Gregory

Apologies

Loz Kaye

Minutes

Minutes of previous meeting approved.

Miah apologised for the delay in putting up the previous minutes, and committed to putting them up following tonights meeting.

Web team - Attendance at NEC meeting

The NEC re-iterated its agreement that a representative of the web team should attend the NEC meetings.

Action: John Barron to contact the web team leader to get this organised.

Party conference - One week away

As attendance levels are looking to be very low, Finlay Archibald proposed a venue change to George House, on George Square (next to Queen Street Station). Much debate ensued.

The NEC finally agreed that given the numbers there wasn’t much choice financially but to change venue.

Action: Finlay Archibald to publicise current situation ASAP (after the meeting), advise attendees and membership of new venue (email to members and blog post).

Member votes - Constitutional amendments

The NEC agreed that we should press ahead with Stephen Ogden’s vote list. John Barron is waiting for sign off from the Board of Governors before putting the votes up. John would prefer that they go live no earlier than Wednesday, to give him time to set things up.

Action: Peter Brett will check with the board and get confirmation over to John Barron.

Referendum campaigning registration

Peter Brett/Peter Liddell both noted that as we will be spending less than £10k on campaigning, we have no requirement to register.

Web payment

John Barron used his own card details to get the VPS paid for after it went down, and is currently waiting for the payment to show up on his card.

Tagadab insist on card payment as the only option for monthly payment.

Miah Gregory noted that annual hosting with whichever company is likely to be in the region of £200 per year, and that domains and SSL certificates are already paid annually/bi-annually.

Discussion of hosting providers to be carried forward to the conference and/or next NEC meeting.

Manifesto

The manifest was supposed to be published on this coming Saturday, but this seems very unlikely to happen now.

Action: Loz Kaye to provide an update on where this is via the mailing list.

Prepared accounts / pre-audit etc

Peter Liddell noted that the accounts are due to the electoral commission in April. He has started organising this, but it is not yet complete.

Miah Gregory re-iterated the importance of us keeping our general day-to-day accounts in order.

Miah Gregory provided log in details for tagadab to Peter Liddell to allow him access to the invoices.

Miah Gregory asked whether the Party was liable for corporation tax. Peter Liddell confirmed that we are liable for this however our liability is likely to be in the order of pence.

Any other business

Membership renewals

Where should money be paid to? Folks can give Peter Liddell cash at the conference, or contact him for the bank account sort code/account number to do a BACS transfer or set up a standing order.

PPUK Conference - PGP keysigning event

John Barron is keen to verify signatures at the conference as he exchanges sensitive emails.

Action: Peter Brett will prepare a blog post about this with details of what is required to take part.

John Barron / Radio interview

John Barron took part in a radio interview for PPUK on London Live / Tom Mallow show (Sunday) as Gavin needed someone to cover it:

He enjoyed doing it, and felt that this kind of thing is what being in the Party is all about.

Paisley South

Finlay Archibald asked whether Miah Gregory would be willing to stand for Paisley South if another Paisley member did not wish to. Miah Gregory agreed to be put forward as a paper candidate, but could not commit to full campaigning due to time constraints.
