Attendees
Andrew Tindall, Loz Kaye, Peter Liddell, John Barron
Apologies
Peter Brett
Approve minutes of last meeting.
The minutes of the previous NEC meeting were approved and have been published.
Matters arising
AV vote
The AV vote has been set up and is now open to the membership. John Barron noted that there was already a strong level of voting with over 70 votes cast already.
Information dissemination
The NEC thanked Andrew Tindall for his efforts in getting information out to the membership in a timely manner.
Press
The pace of releasing statements has improved, which is positive news. Loz Kaye wondered how much of the information is making it through to the press contacts. Andrew Tindall notes that much of the information is being published on the website, but not in PDF form as Will Tovey is the only one with the template for this.
Action: Loz Kaye will talk to Will Tovey regarding the above.
Twitter Jokes
Loz Kaye felt this effort is showing fruit and needs to be maintained in order to improve the party profile in regard to freedom of speech.
Any up and coming demonstrations
Loz Kaye has been contacted to find out whether there are any planned demonstrations/rallys coming up. He noted that the rally on Saturday showed how well these can work.
If anyone knows of any events coming up they should let Loz Kaye know, so that he can pass the details on.
Treasurers statement
Paypal
Waiting on a statement from the Bank of Scotland account to finalise this. Miah Gregory pointed out that just the values of the two transactions are required, so Peter Liddell has agreed to go into the bank tomorrow and get these.
Co-op bank account
Peter Liddell has emailed Andrew Robinson again today (Monday) to try and get this sorted out. Peter Liddell will call Andrew Robinson later in the week if nothing heard.
Bank of Scotland bank account
Nothing to report, other than waiting for first statement to come through.
Bank transfer donation form
Peter Liddell requested feedback on this so that this can get finalised.
Membership renewals
Miah Gregory asked who is checking for people whose membership is expiring/has expired and encouraging renewal. Miah Gregory believed that RAO’s were meant to be doing this.
Any other business
Signed RAO forms
Not all RAO’s have returned correctly signed forms, still.
Scottish Campaign
Some members have expressed concerns over the handling of the Scottish campaign by the Scotland RAO. Peter Liddell noted that this was tabled for discussion at the Scottish meeting on Friday. In particular, one concern conveyed was the announcement of opening nominations for candidates which has not yet happened.
IP rights online
We should put up a blog post on this asking members for submissions.
Elections
Brief discussion on other elections that will be coming up next year (local elections etc).
Oldham election
No judgement this week, so very unlikely to have by-election prior to Christmas.
