Start of NEC meeting
Last weeks meeting minutes approved.
Party required to submit a couple of returns to the electoral commission by the end of the month.
Manifesto progress - lessons to be learned on how to take this forward based on forum feedback.
Debrief from Philip regarding Open Rights Group meeting regarding lobbying MPs on Digital Economy Bill. Turnout of 12 people. Philip will blog about this.
John is going to another Open Rights Group meeting next week in London.
Another potential candidate in Cambridge. John suspects Cambridge may be a must-fight seat due to a number of factors. It has an active student movement and interestingly there appears to be a Pirate Party facebook group established there unrelated to PPUK.
Rick Falkvinge will be in Cambridge next month, 18th February, filesharing debate. Topic will be "This house would remove restrictions to file sharing online", with Jim Killoch and Rick Falkvinge proposing, and Feargal Sharkey with John Enser (Head of Music at city law firm Olswang LLP) opposing.
No further progress on merchandising.
Andy is heading to London for the TalkTalk event on Tuesday - everything sounding very positive.
Whilst in London, Andy will be attending an event at the House of Commons chaired by Tom Watson.
