Minutes of previous meeting

Minutes of previous meeting already approved.

Discussion of web team progress

It was mentioned that Laura-Anne was interested in taking over the YouTube channel. Chris M. has the login at the moment, Finlay/Laura-Anne will chase Chris M and report back to NEC if unable to gain login details.

Due to time/need for progress, proposed that NEC review forum thread: http://www.pirateparty.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3011 and appoint web team leader from those who have put themselves forward.

NEC voted in favour.

Tempest3k to post update accordingly to that thread

Scottish RAO

Andrew P has been unavailable, Finlay Archibald was previously appointed deputy RAO and has been acting as such. We would like to make member data available to Scottish organisers - normally this is only issued (subject to data protection disclaimer) to elected officers.

Discussion about Finlay continuing as acting RAO for now, however Scots members may wish to have a vote/have an RAO election if there is to be a change. Finlay to get DPA disclaimer from Miah Gregory, and chase Andrew P to confirm for members that he is stepping down as Scots RAO.

Scottish candidates

Finlay reported on Scottish campaign meeting immediately prior to NEC meeting, wish to run in four regions (Glasgow, West of Scotland, Lothian, and North East England)

Discussion of need to demonstrate support to run campaign, comparison to experiences so far. lack of confirmed attendance at conference

John Barron moved to put candidates proposed so far to Scottish member vote ASAP, to conclude prior to conference. This will confirm Scots members approval for those proposed so far. per preceding discussion, how many/which regions are then confirmed/funded subject to demonstrating support/ability to run a campaign.

NEC voted in favour.

Conference

Attendance not yet at break even (14 confirmed so far), not really enough / need to promote conference. Discussion/consensus that we've come so far with it we should continue, need to push on rather than cancel.

Discussion of how to promote conference further, suggestion of taking advantage of party conference to film party election broadcast. Possible guest speakers have been contacted / discussion regarding travel expenses if so. Finlay and Pete L looking into that, to report back.

Manifesto

Loz Kaye happy with structure of 2010 manifesto to build on / develop for 2011. There is already plenty go on, with many comments / amendments put forward so far. Loz Kaye will take this forward, enlisting assistance (some possible helpers suggested) as required.

AOB

Graeme Lambert has been appointed as member communication officer following Andrew Tindall resignation.
