Election Update
North West
Loz Kaye visited electoral services today to get this under way.
Scotland
As per the mailing list, a number of the regions decided not to proceed.
West of Scotland region forms were returned today, along with £500 deposit.
Finlay Archibald has the £500 deposit/bankers draft for the Glasgow region.
General
Peter Brett noted his surprise that people haven’t been asking for money to pay for large print outs of street maps for their area to allow them to plan their campaigns.
Web Team Update
Phil Cooke has been looking at membership issue mentioned by Peter Brett. Phil Cooke is waiting on feedback from Peter Brett on this. Looking like this may be a manual process for now as this will need someone to spend a good amount of time to familiarise, however there are some automated channels in place at the moment.
Peter Brett plans to put the free memberships into the system later this week. Phil Cooke will arrange GPG keys etc with Peter Brett.
‘’‘Action: Peter Brett will email Phil Cooke a data protection form to fill out.‘’‘
Graeme has been working on donation meter.
Phil Cooke is in the process of getting all the password info from Leonard Challis.
Web team meeting on Thursday.
Phil Cooke will be recommending maintenance only on current VM due to lack of documentation, plans to move to a new VM and set up from scratch there.
Miah Gregory noted that he has experience with Debian based servers and can provide assistance/advice if required on determining passwords for MySQL etc.
‘Meeb' from IRC has been co-opted onto the web team due to his involvement in setting up the IRC network.
Party Administrator
Gavin Meredith interested in taking on this kind of role. Loz Kaye and Peter Brett will look into meeting up with Gavin to discuss this.
Meeting Time/Day Change
It was suggested that Sunday 8pm might be a better time/day for the meeting.
Membership approval/status setup (web issues)
There seems to be a lot of inconsistency between different electoral services offices around the country. Some have been happy to confirm members via email, but others will only provide a full electoral register.
Peter Brett has prepared a letter head and will be writing to those offices who won’t accept email.
AOB
Free membership problems
Peter Brett recommended that due to the delays/problems we’ve had, we should give folks a free t-shirt and 12 months membership by way of apology.
Peter Brett will contact Miah Gregory about organising payment for the t-shirts.
Party Address
Miah Gregory has been looking into virtual mailboxes. Blue Square in Glasgow is looking like a good candidate, £25 per month plus VAT, probably cheaper annually. Finlay Archibald is going to check them out physically and if things look good we will proceed with this.
Acting Web Team Leader
Phil Cooke noted that he is currently acting web team leader, but that this should have a time limit set on it. His suggestion is sometime after the local elections are out of the way to minimise problems. Approximately the beginning of May.
Peter Liddell
Miah Gregory has heard from Peter Liddell but hasn’t yet had a chance to talk to him properly.
Corporation Tax Return
Miah Gregory does not yet have any of the paperwork (bank statements, receipts, invoices, etc) so this can’t easily be progressed at the moment. He also noted that he is unlikely to have the time to fully rebuild the accounts from scratch in preparation for the Corporation Tax Return.
Co-op bank account
Miah Gregory is still looking into getting full access/control of this account.
Weekly balance sheet
Peter Brett would like to see incoming/outgoing transactions on a weekly basis, plus bank account balances.
