The minutes of the previous NEC meeting were approved and have been published.
Matters arising
Treasurers statement
Paypal bank account has been verified and £8000 has been withdrawn. It will take a few days for it to clear in the bank account. Peter Liddell expects that it should be showing up by Wednesday. Once the money has cleared, he will set up the various payments on the new bank account, and the old bank account will then be closed.
Region update
Tom Lilley has gotten back to John Barron regarding members data. No updated data yet, but things are moving here.
Andrew Paliwoda has informed Peter Liddell that he has posted off his DPA form today.
Finlay Archibald gave an update on the Scottish campaign. He noted that minutes of the recent meeting have been posted on the forum.
The plan is to open nominations for candidates as the next step in the process. Finlay Archibald was not sure when nominations would open, or how long they would remain open for, and believed this was down to Andrew Paliwoda and/or John Barron.
There will be a meeting to start work on the 2011 manifesto immediately following the NEC meeting so that work can start on putting this together.
A discussion ensued on the Scottish campaign.
A suggestion/question had been tabled at the recent meeting in Glasgow regarding whether Loz Kaye would wish to stand. Loz Kaye agreed to talk to Andrew Paliwoda regarding this, but noted that his interest in standing in Manchester for the council might prevent him from splitting his focus.
Website reliability
Andrew Tindall noted that there have been serious issues with website stability. He also noted that some people have shown concern about slow/lack of response on this and other matters from Tom Lilley.
Miah Gregory and Peter Liddell had both heard from Tom Lilley who has requested that a new virtual machine be purchased so that he can transfer the site over. Miah Gregory asked that Peter Liddell go ahead and purchase the new virtual machine as soon as funds have cleared.
Miah Gregory asked Andrew Tindall to get hold of Tom Lilley if possible and find out a time that he could make some kind of web team meeting. Miah Gregory suggested that if a time could be set, some kind of promotion of the meeting in appropriate places to get interested parties to come along and volunteer/get involved would likely be a good way to try and get things moving again.
Loz Kaye noted that he would like to see a clear contact point come out of the meeting so that he knows who to pass people on to.
Miah Gregory suggested that a good starting point for willing volunteers would be to post to the web team forum (assuming that it has open access to all members) some kind of brief bio/skillset summary, available time, that kind of thing.
Loz Kaye asked who looks after the wiki. It was believed that Abedician was/is doing this, but it is not clear whether Abedician has been active recently.
Oldham and Saddleworth
Finlay Archibald suggested that nominations and elections for these could be run alongside those for the Scottish candidates.
Loz Kaye noted that he was concerned with available resources to do this in time, but was happy to go ahead if there was a general consensus that the Party would gain from the campaign.
Any other business
John Barron will be attending a get together with the Libel Reform group this week, who are having a “one year on” event.
