Minutes of last meeting

The minutes of the last meeting have been approved and will be published.

Web team

Leonard Challis has been contacted and has now publicly accepted the position of web team leader. Miah provided wiki access to Leonard during the week and Leonard has now started setting up pages: http://www.pirateparty.org.uk/wiki/Web_Team_Skills

Action: Loz Kaye needs to pass on details of some volunteers that have contacted him to Leonard.

It was emphasised that the situation we have found ourselves in with the web team prior to this new appointment must be prevented from occurring again.

Wikileaks / Assange

Loz Kaye has been fielding some press coverage on this story, as has Shaun Dyer.

IRC network

A request was received for approval for a suggested re-organisation of the Pirate Party IRC network.

Action: Miah Gregory to reply to email confirming NEC approval.

Any other business

May 2011 Campaign Budget

National Campaigns Team wish to allocate £3000 for Scotland 2011, and £2000 (max) for local elections. Local election budget will be £100 for each candidate and an additional discretionary £50 per candidate allocatable by RAO. Any additional funds for Scotland 2011 to be fund-raised, organised by Scottish team. Those present at the meeting voted unanimously to accept these proposals.

Treasury bottleneck

There was a discussion on the problems and concerns over keeping on top of the accounts.

The idea of separating off bookkeeping into a separate role was suggested as a way to spread out the load.

Action: Loz Kaye will give Peter Liddell a call to discuss.

Press

We need people with better defined roles. Someone to deal with small day to day enquiries and generally ensure that enquiries are handled in an appropriate manner. Also someone else to look at campaigning in a wider sense. Loz Kaye has contacted Gavin Meredith and is waiting to hear back from him. We need to get the press team functioning well again. Loz Kaye would like to get some focus on very particular issues that we care about as a Party.
