Elections feedback
Loz brought up best result so far in Bury, comprehensive report sent out about the election to the NEC & Board and to be passed on to future candidates.
- Peter feedback
- Lack of communication over issues such as mapping the area.
- We need a candidate pack with all of the information we have gained.
- Loz wants people to be inspired by recent successes and be focused on the real political work.
- Loz thanked everyone for hard work.
- Finlay report on Scotland
- Happy with result but we wanted more and felt we could've achieved more.
- Lack of support in general, quite a few Scots (unnamed) that didn't help at all.
- Received quite a lot of votes from people in an area we hadn't stood before.
- £1k on deposits, £600-£700 on campaigning.
- NEC members asking Finlay to provide a report on the election similar to the report done in Bury.
Treasurer change forms
- We know what the process is and John will be sending electoral change forms required to change Treasurer over the next day or so.
- Forms need to be filled in by officers.
- Election for Treasurer closes on the 16th.
- Election expenses forms need to be filled in.
Campaigns officer nominations
- Nominations are open.
Action: Peter Brett to send email out to members requesting nominations to come forward.
Site update
- Banners for elections at the top of the page are now out of date.
- Replace with placeholder, manifesto etc.
- Graeme & Phil to work on this.
- Phil has been looking at what needs to be done on the site over the long term and to get an audit and documentation done.
Party Administrator
- Waiting for the end of the treasurer vote.
- No feedback yet on the job description that has been put together.
- Common feeling is that we appoint Gavin as Administrator regardless of whether he is Treasurer or not.
- We know how we need to account for it with the Electoral Commission; non-monetary donation.
- We need to set a budget for administrative costs.
Action: John to arrange this ASAP on behalf of NEC and go and visit Gavin and iron things out.
- Agreement within the next week and have a start date set for at the earliest June to start as Administrator.
AOB
- Process of selecting candidates
- Nowhere on website about candidates.
- Loz wants to be ratified for his ward in Manchester ASAP and get out canvassing now ahead of next year.
- Loz giving apologies for next week as he's going back to his day job.
- Minutes missing from the end of March for the wiki. Let's get it done soon, everyone to pitch in and get them done.
- meeb (IRC) has offered a server, identical to current setup but with room to expand.
- it has been brought up and NEC concluded previously that we must turn it down due to lack of contract.
- could we use it as space to test on?
- Phil's role is due to be reviewed..
- Phil would like to re-open nominations for web team leader to see if there are better candidates out there for the job, but is happy to continue until someone is found, or if nobody is found.
- Phil to send it out so it doesn't look like the NEC isn't happy with Phil's work.
- ppuk.it registration lapsed a few days ago and Miah had to re-purchase.
- web interface for IRC doesn't work anymore due to irc.piratpartiet.se doesn't work at the moment.
- #ppuksurvey
- good idea, but needs to be monitored and reported on properly.
- Graeme to produce daily reports on this.
- candidate domain names
- preference to be on PPUK website as subdomain instead of as individual websites.
