If I become a party member, will this information be publicly available?

No, we are registered under the Data Protection Act and won't be making any member names public without express consent. We are obliged to publish your name if you exceed the donation threshold (£200 in one donation) by the electoral commission. For further information contact Miah Gregory who is the data controller and uses the name Mace on the forums.

I am under 18, can I join the party?

Yes.

I am not a UK citizen but I want to join. Can I?

Yes you can, as long as you are registered to vote in the UK, i.e. on the electoral roll. If you are not on the electoral roll, you are still welcome to donate less than £200, and obviously join the Pirate Party in your country.

I am not a UK citizen but I want to help. Can I make a donation?

Yes! However, we can only accept donations from people not on the electoral roll if their total aggregate donation is £200 or less.

The law is not clear on the time-scale between successive donations for them to be legal if the total is over £200, so please contact us if this is going to be the case and we can discuss the matter on a case-by-case basis.
