What is the Dock used for??

The Dock is a place for pirate editors can discuss, ask questions, post comments or find a ship.

After introducing yourself in the Dock Manifesto, you can learn what changes need to be made, see what projects are going under way and take part in many active discussions. You are welcome to start a new discussion, but keep in mind that all articles have their own talk pages!

Spam

Discussion for the front page was lost beneath the hundreds of spam edits ~x Let the captcha save our soul.

Somehow spam still seems to be affecting the main page - but now just clearing it. I've undone that twice this afternoon, any thoughts? -Duke (10/8/9)

I've asked Gavin to only let registered users edit the wiki, that should sort it --Fozz Dog 22:41, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
I've made it so the main page can only be edited by registered users for the meantime. Ian 13:55, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Link to constituency map

Please can someone add a link to the map here: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=111583039096860088060.000482f761fc0e558e0a4 just under the list of constituencies? I.e. where it currently says "Check out the election manifesto!" --Rjmunro 22:29, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

How can I help page

We need a "How can I help" page with sections for people who, like me, live miles from any actual constituency. I'll add Talk:How can I help because that's all I have permission to do. --Rjmunro 22:29, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

We have the Pirate:Education project to tackle this. - Abedecian ~ Talk to me and you get cake! 18:47, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Update

Firstly, there are no parser functions faclities, making templates in this wiki impossible. WikiMedia Parser Functions Secondly, This wiki needs someone to sort it out :/

The latest version of MediaWiki appears to be 1.15.3, so everything is up to date. However, I've posted your request for the ParserFunctions extension in the web team forum, and also reminded everyone that you volunteered to be wiki manager... --Samgower 22:38, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Candidate Pages

they already have basic pages, they just seem to be orphaned now: e.g. Worcester election campaign 2010

I am not sure what you mean, do you mean about what is on the to do list? - Abedecian ~ Talk to me and you get cake! 19:24, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Workspace:Policy Discussion

I made the policy discussion workspace a long while back to help record debates on policy and so forth. I now want to change it slightly and get it up to date, and just make sure everyone is happy with me doing so.

The main change will be renaming the pages. For the main page, rather than use Workspace:Policy Discussion I want to simply use Policy. Each policy page will then be titled, for example, Policy:Copyright Duration. Each page will not only have the discussions on them, but also the current policy and any votes. I'll put up an example page soon.

Also, thinking more long term, I'd like to get a few helpers on board to help sum-up discussions as they go. Would it be possible for me to be able to allow certain users to edit the Policy namespace? --Samgower 17:38, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

I've now got an example of the new policy pages, User:Samgower/Copyright duration. Comments appreciated. --Samgower 20:28, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
