[edit] Order of groups
I've put the non-English parts of the UK before the regions of England, because otherwise it might offend people who thought that it was being implied that Scotland or Wales are less important than an English region. -- Cabalamat 14:13, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- I think we should have the 4 counties, with the indented english regions. Having 2 separate sections with one for "Non-English" could offend too I suspect, so keeping the country listing alphabetical just seems simpler without over thinking it. My proposal for the page is here Ian 14:19, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- I quite like this as far as layout goes; I think we should keep the facebook links for now -- Cabalamat 16:10, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Facebook groups
I've re-added the facebook groups, because this link expects them to be here. -- Cabalamat 14:13, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think the page should be cluttered with 12 different facebook links - the idea of a regional listing is so that you can choose the region that applies for you, and then see relevent info there. Otherwise, why don't we have the twitter link on this page too etc. Ian 14:19, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- Regarding Twitter, we don't have regional Twitter groups, so it doesn't apply. I don't think it's too cluttered, since it all easily fits on one screen. Having said that, once we get a lot bigger, with lots of subregional groups, constituency parties, university groups, etc, it owuld probably make sense to reemove the facebook links from the Regions page. -- Cabalamat 16:08, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- It's just that, surely, we should try and keep this page simple. People are gonna be looking for their region, when they click through they are presented with the facebook and forum links anyway. I don't see why we should make this page more complex with stuff that is ultimately irrelevant to most. Ian 16:45, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- Forum, rather than Twitter, links would have been a better example (especially as the forum is more important than the facebook groups as that's there actual regional discussion and organisation occurs). Ian 16:48, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Regional Administrative Officers
Added details about the directly elected RAO role which I propose to create now the 2010 election has completed. This may end up being worth a page to itself? For now it isn't long, anyway, and I will be writing a blog post about this as I prepare to call for RAO nominations. --JohnB 21:51, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
