General Questions
- Why do you want to be an executive?
- How did you get involved in the Pirate Party movement?
- What experience do you have that makes you suitable for the role?
- What is your view on the job done by the exec team so far?
- How would you describe your management style?
- How will you identify and encourage talented people to help run the party?
Leadership Candidates
- Of the parties 3 core policies, which do you feel is most important, and why?
- Are you fully able to commit yourself to doing interviews and articles on behalf of the party?
- Do you agree that the Party Leader should not just be talking to the media, but actively engaging with party members, informing them of what he, and the NEC are doing for the party?
- Do you believe that PPUK would benefit from working more closely with PPI, especially the other parties in Europe, if so/not, why?
- How would you describe the primary role of the party leader?
- How does the job of Leader differ from other exec roles?
- Is the Leader also chair of the exec committee, or should this job be separate?
Campaigns Officer Candidates
- Do you believe the party should utilise not just online campaigning, but offline methods such as canvassing, and posting/handing out leaflets?
- What campaign strategies would you propose/implement if you were elected to the role?
- What is your view on the use of social media such as twitter, facebook, and formspring, in politics?
- Do you understand the legal responsibilities of the Campaigns Officer, as stated in our constitution? If so, can you briefly explain how you intend to perform them during the extreme pressure of a general election?
- Should the Campaigns Officer also be allowed to stand as a parliamentary candidate?
- Is it the Campaigns Officer's job to be responding directly to media queries, or should these be passed on to the Leader and candidates to raise their exposure with voters?
Treasurer Candidates
- What financial experience do you have?
- Where do you think party spending should be focussed, and why?
- What are your ideas for how to raise more funds?
- Please summarize your understanding of the legal obligations of a political party's Treasurer. How much time do you estimate it will take to satisfy those obligations?
- What are your plans to protect the interests of the party so that if something unfortunate happened and you were no longer able to continue in the role of Treasurer, the party could continue to function without a significant interruption?
- How many volunteers/deputies do you need to support you? How would you organize your team to manage the workload?
Nominating Officer Candidates
- What are you views on how we should field candidates for General, Local, and EU elections?
- Which level of election do you think should be our primary focus, and why?
- How would you go about selecting potential candidates for elections?
- Would you rather see many fielded candidates in an election, but with less campaigning, or a select few candidates with greater campaigning?
- Are there circumstances where a Nominating Officer should be expressing their political views, even though this might imply bias in selecting parliamentary andidates or even that the Nominating Officer will block candidates with different views to their own?
- What makes for a good parliamentary candidate? What are you looking for in prospective parliamentary candidates?
Data Controller Candidate
- What experience do you have in this field?
- What measures would you take to ensure the security of member's data?
- What information do you believe should be public?
- Should this role be broadened to cover the wider topic of how the party uses and manages information technology, like an Information Officer? If yes, why? If not, why not?
