Summary

There is concern that the government has been selling data, specifically the DVLA database, to private companies. The data being sold includes the specifications of vehicles and the names and addresses of vehicle owners. The data has been used by services that allow anyone to see the information on a car by registration number, "rogue wheel clamping companies" and advertisers.
