I am a computer programmer and consultant, working in the industry for twenty years.
In recent years I've become interested in the rise of free/libre software, and the wider free culture movement. I want to see us taking advantage of the technology which lets us connect and share information, knowledge, art, and culture throughout society and our community, rather than being locked away by artificial monopoly scarcity.
I have been active in the UK pirate party from inception, taking part and voting in the earliest forum polls to select the initial executive team when PPUK was formed, and then chairing on the copyright policy working group discussions. More recently, since December 2009 I've been serving as Nominating Officer for the party, following internal elections.
