    Having successfully submitted the required nomination forms the Pirate Party can confirm that we have three candidates standing for election in this local election cycle.

    Local Pirate Party candidates have already begun dropping leaflets through doors in the Vale of Glamorgan and Hampshire.

    Acting Party Leader David A Elston is standing for the St Athan Ward on Vale of Glamorgan, and is also looking to be elected to the Community Council seat to which he was co-opted last year.

    Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty was triggered today by Prime Minister Theresa May.

    Britain's ambassador to the EU, Sir Tim Barrow, has already hand-delivered the six page letter from May to the EU Council President Donald Tusk in Brussels to formally begin proceedings.

    Today, in Prime Minister's Questions, the Commons had their chance to speak with the Prime Minister on what the letter contained and to raise their concerns.

    Today Home Secretary Amber Rudd claimed that end-to-end encryption is "absolutely unacceptable" when referring to how she believed terrorists primarily communicate.

    Speaking on The Andrew Marr Show, the Home Secretary said: "It used to be people just steam open envelopes or just listen in on phones when they wanted to find out what they were doing" and has further added "...but in this situation we need to make sure our intelligence services have the ability to get into situations like encrypted...

    Pirate Party UK statement about today's suspected terror attack in London.

    The victims included many people just crossing Westminster bridge at the time of the incident. Some reported French students were included in the injured, along with some Policemen who were just returning from a commendation ceremony. While 2 of the confirmed dead include the assailant and an armed police officer.

    In a written statement yesterday the Secretary of State for Transport, Chris Grayling, announced a ban on "Phones, laptops and tablets larger than 16.0cm x 9.3cm x 1.5cm in the cabin on flights to the UK from Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Tunisia."
